How it works
Four steps, two weeks.
A clear path from application to offer. Everyone who applies is welcome at the networking nights.
Step 01
Apply
Submit a short application — name, year, resume, and a few prompts. Takes about 15 minutes.
Step 02
Connect
Come to our networking and info nights. Open to everyone who applied — meet the team and ask anything.
Step 03
Interview
Invite-only behavioral and case rounds. We'll run a workshop beforehand so you know exactly what to expect.
Step 04
Decide
Final decisions go out the same week. Onboarding for the new cohort starts the following Monday.
Open to every major, every year.
We hire for curiosity, ownership, and the willingness to figure things out alongside teammates. No prior consulting experience required.
- Any major. Business, engineering, CS, design, the arts, the sciences — all welcome.
- Any year. Freshmen through seniors. We have alumni who joined in their last semester.
- Cares about the craft. You want to ship work that real people see, not just resume bullets.
You don’t need to be polished. You need to be prepared.
A short checklist that puts you in good shape before the interview round.
- 1Read one of Case in Point or Case Interview Secrets — front to back.
- 2Practice 3–4 cases out loud with a partner. Speak through your structure.
- 3Have a clean one-page resume. Be ready to walk through it in 60 seconds.
- 4Attend the interview workshop — we'll cover the rubric and run live examples.

Frequently asked
FAQs.
Engagements range from go-to-market strategy and market research to full-stack engineering builds, AI pipelines, hardware prototyping, and design systems. Every semester we work with a mix of startups, mid-market firms, and Fortune 500 clients.
We use Bain-style case frameworks. Read through one or two case prep books (Case in Point, Case Interview Secrets) and practice three or four cases out loud with a partner. We host an interview workshop during recruitment to walk you through our format.
Twelve to fourteen weeks, one UIUC semester. Teams kick off in week one and present final deliverables in week thirteen or fourteen.
One Project Manager, three to five Consultants, and an Executive Partner who reviews at key checkpoints. PMs run scope and client comms; consultants own workstreams; partners review the work.
Two things. First, real social belonging. Most of our consultants describe CUBE as where they made their closest friends at UIUC. Second, a project pipeline that punches well above its weight, with alumni placed at top firms across consulting, banking, tech, and product.
